Meal service in response to coronavirus

Havelock Housing Association (HHA) has joined forces with the Canberra Racing Club (CRC) to provide a subsidised ready-to-eat meal service to our residents and the community sector amid the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic.

With stock flying off the shelves, foodstuffs hard to source, shopping limitations and a lockdown on the horizon, many vulnerable Canberrans are finding it hard to easily access the food that they need.

Services such as this will be heavily relied upon to ease the demand for food relief as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Some of Havelock House residents in particular are living with high and complex needs – including disability, physical and mental health issues – and require additional support to source healthy meals.

This meal service is a true example of what community is all about: coming together to get through the tough times and making sure no one is left behind or hungry.

The meal service will be available to:

  • residents of Havelock House
  • community housing residents in HHA-managed homes
  • other community sector organisations
  • the wider Canberra community.

The menu offers a variety of chicken, which is halal certified, beef or vegetarian meal options and will alternate weekly (Menu A and Menu B). Residents in HHA-managed homes will receive a discount.

This week, we are offering meals from Menu B.
