Membership

Membership of the Association consists of voting and non-voting members:

Voting Members comprise Organisation and Individual members elected to the Board of Directors and all Housing Members; and

Non Voting Members comprises Organisation and Individual members not elected to the Board of Directors.

Housing Members. comprises all who are accommodated in properties managed by the Association. Housing Members are sometimes referred to by other names:
Occupants or Residents - These are Housing Members who are accommodated at Havelock House under the Occupancy Agreement; or
Tenants - These are Housing Members accommodated at properties other than Havelock House under a Tenancy Agreement.

Organisation Members. Any organisation that agrees to abide by the objects, rules and policies of the Association may apply for membership of the Association. These nominations must be approved at an Annual General Meeting of members or by the Board of Directors in order for them to become members.

Individual Members. Any individual who agrees to abide by the objects, rules and policies of the Association may apply for membership of the Association. These nominations must be approved at an Annual General Meeting of members or by the Board of Directors in order for them to become members.

Duration of Membership. Housing Members remain members of the Association as long as they are accommodated in properties managed by the Association. Organisation and Individual Membership is for one year unless elected to the Board of Directors in which case membership is extended to a maximum of two years.
